The INSEN – Research, Innovation & Knowledge Network is envisioned as a collaborative platform that bridges scientific evidence, grassroots experience and policy-relevant action. It seeks to generate, translate and share knowledge that helps communities, institutions and development partners address complex social, health and environmental challenges.
Communities and institutions empowered by accessible evidence, locally relevant innovation and shared knowledge to build equitable, healthy and sustainable futures.
To promote applied research, participatory learning, responsible innovation, knowledge exchange and evidence-informed decision-making through interdisciplinary partnerships and community engagement.
Our Nine Focus Areas
A multidisciplinary approach linking research with practical development outcomes.
Health systems studies, disease prevention, surveillance analytics and operational learning with appropriate institutional approvals.
Climate vulnerability, ecosystem health, environmental risks and nature-based solutions.
Responsible use of GIS, dashboards, digital data collection and decision-support tools.
Research briefs, learning resources, publications, community toolkits and open knowledge sharing.
Results frameworks, programme evaluation, data quality improvement and learning-based adaptation.
Documenting and respecting community practices, traditional knowledge and locally tested solutions.
Training in research methods, ethics, data literacy, scientific writing and evidence use.
Policy dialogues, evidence translation, cross-sector collaboration and pilot innovation design.
From Questions to Community Impact
Our approach emphasises ethical research, informed consent, data protection, inclusivity, scientific integrity and practical usefulness. Activities involving human participants or personal health data will be subject to applicable permissions and ethical safeguards.
Proposed Priority Initiatives
Concepts for future programme development, technical collaboration and resource mobilisation—not claims of completed projects.
Participatory local research, field learning and accessible community knowledge resources.
Capacity building and analytical tools to support public health decision-making.
Local vulnerability studies, ecosystem monitoring and practical adaptation research.
Toolkits, training resources, research summaries and curated knowledge products.
Mentoring students, early-career researchers and young community innovators.
Outcome assessment and implementation learning for sustainable development programmes.
Locally Grounded. Regionally Relevant.
INSEN seeks to develop research and knowledge partnerships in Assam and the wider North Eastern Region of India, particularly around the needs of rural, underserved, environmentally vulnerable and geographically remote communities. Successful approaches may be adapted to other contexts through collaboration.
Research Together. Innovate Responsibly. Share Knowledge.
We welcome collaboration with universities, research institutions, government departments, public health agencies, CSR partners, technology organisations, civil society and community groups. Together, we can connect evidence with meaningful, sustainable action.
